Miami's Brooke Dovell Earns ACC Weekly Honor

The University of Miami’s Brooke Dovell was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

In her collegiate debut, Dovell was the individual champion of the King of the Hill Challenge and led her squad to a team title. The Erial, N.J. native crossed the finish line in 19:19 on the challenging 5k course and she was the only competitor in the field that finished in under 20 minutes.

“It is an honor for Brooke to be recognized by the conference as the performer of the week,” said assistant cross country coach Damon Griffiths.

The Hurricanes will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the University of Florida’s Mountain Dew Invitational.
