Chris Hernandez is this week’s Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week. The junior left-hander won his fifth ACC game of the season last Friday night against Maryland, allowing just one run in seven innings against the Terrapins. Scattering eight hits and striking out four, Hernandez (6-2) carried the ‘Canes as they picked up a 5-1 win in the series opener against the Terrapins. He lowered his ERA from 3.57 to 3.32 – ranking him eighth among all ACC pitchers after this past weekend’s play. Hernandez is also now tied for the conference-lead with five victories against ACC opponents. |
