University of Miami Offers Fans Free Desktop Alert Application, The B-Line
Aug. 20, 2009
MIAMI, Fla. – The University of Miami athletic department today announced that it has added a free downloadable desktop alert application, The B-Line, to its official athletic web site (www.hurricanesports.com), providing fans and alumni of the Hurricanes instant access to information related to University of Miami Athletics.
The B-Line gives fans a full view of Miami athletics, alerting them to the latest breaking news, stories and highlights while also allowing one-click access to hurricanesports.com. Free software for the B-Line is available for both PCs and Macs and can be downloaded through the official University of Miami Athletics site, www.hurricanesports.com (click here to download free software).
Hurricanesports.com is produced and hosted by CBS College Sports Network, a leader in the official collegiate athletic website business with over 200 colleges and universities currently under contract. The B-Line was provided to the University of Miami and hurricanesports.com through a partnership agreement between CBS College Sports Network and New Tier, Inc, a pioneer and industry leader in digital marketing solutions. CBS College Sports Network and New Tier are facilitating the launch of similar versions of the B-Line at 75 colleges and universities by the fall of 2009.
“CBS College Sports Network is thrilled to bring the B-Line to the users of hurricanesports.com and to fans and alumni of University of Miami around the world,” said Robert Schupler, Senior Vice President, University Sales & Marketing for CBS College Sports Network. “The B-Line is a lot like having your own personal sporting news ticker docked at the bottom of your screen, providing the latest news, scores and information directly to the desktop.”
