UM SPORTS MEDIA RELATIONS EARNS AWARDS

2008-09 Men’s Basketball Media Guide  |  2009 Baseball Media Guide

Coral Gables, Fla… Two media guides produced by the University of Miami Sports Media Relations Department have received awards in an annual competition sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

In the CoSIDA Publications Contest, the men’s basketball guide won “Best Cover” among the 83 Division 1 schools entered in the judging. 

In addition, the overall men’s basketball and baseball media guides each placed third in their respective contests among entries in District 3, which includes all Division 1 schools in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

The men’s basketball cover was designed by Margaret Belch, who is entering her third season as the Sports Information Director for men’s basketball, and Etta Schaller, the department’s Coordinator of Publications. Schaller, a 14-year member of the department, has been recognized by CoSIDA on numerous occasions including four “Best Cover”  awards.

Rob Dunning, who recently wrapped up his first season as Miami’s Sports Information Director for baseball and his second with the department, assisted Schaller with the baseball media guide.
