Harris' Olympic Bid Comes to an End

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Miami’s Tim Harris ran the 800-meters in 1:49.65 in the first round of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. The time was not good enough for him to advance to the next round.
Due to a hamstring injury, Harris was unable to reach his goal of winning the NCAA National Championship in Des Moines, Iowa, and it appeared that the injury kept him from competing at his top form on Friday night.
The four-time All-American, was among 30 competitors in the 800-meter run, running the fifth-fastest collegiate time and the 25th-best overall.
During his time at Miami, Harris won an unprecedented six ACC Titles in the 800-meters, three in each the indoor and outdoor seasons. Harris is set to graduate in December from the university after competing in the 2008 cross country season this fall.
