Harris, Nelms and Bradley Gear Up for NCAA East Regional

CORAL GABLES – The <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami men’s track and field team will be represented by three individuals at the NCAA East Region Track and Field Championships, May 30-31, at Mike Long Track on the campus of FloridaStateUniversity in Tallahassee, Fla.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The trio will be led by four-time All-American Tim Harris, who is coming off his sixth ACC Championship in the 800-meters (three indoor, three outdoor). Currently, Harris holds the nation’s third best time in the event with a blistering 1:47.12. Harris will run in Friday’s preliminary heat at 7 p.m., the top eight finishers will advance to the finals Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Cory Nelms and Les Bradley II will both represent the Hurricanes in the 110-meter hurdles, while Nelms will also compete in the 400-meter hurdles. Bradley ran his season best time of 14.03 in the preliminary heat of the ACC Championships. Nelms best time in the 100-meter hurdles came at the Georgia Tech Invitational, where he won the event in 13.89 seconds. In the 400-meter hurdles Nelms time of 51.43 was good enough for his all-ACC, third place finish at the conference championships.
The 110-meter hurdles are scheduled to start Friday at 5 p.m. with the 400 getting under way at 7:40 p.m.
