As a team the Hurricanes tied for eighth place with Maryland registering 36 points. FloridaState won the overall title for the fourth straight year with 141 points.
“Once again Tim was the man of the day, at the 400-meter mark he had a 50-meter lead over the nearest competitor,” said head coach Mike Ward.
That 50-meter lead ended up being a 2.62 second margin of victory for the four-time all-American. Harris won the event, improving on his personal, collegiate and American best time at 1:47.25.
Harris also ran the second-leg of the 4×400-meter relay, a team that finished seventh with a season-best time of 3:14.35. Also on the team were Cory Nelms, Patrick Blackie and Patrick O’Donnell.
Nelms was impressive on the day as well, finishing third in both the 110 and 400-meter hurdles, earning all-ACC honors in both. His time of 51.43 in the 400-meter hurdles was a career-best. He finished with a time of 14.23 in the 100-meter hurdles. Les Bradley II also placed in the 110-hurdles with a fifth place time of 14.28.
The 4×100-meter relay team, consisting of Bruce Johnson Demarcus Vandyke, Khalil Jones and Shawnbrey McNeal came in sixth place, earning three points for Miami.
