Harris, Nelms and Bradley Advance to Finals

Four-time All-American Tim Harris won his 800-meter preliminary heat and will look to claim his third straight outdoor conference title in the event. His time of 1:49.38, is his second regional qualifying mark in two attempts this season.
Cory Nelms reached qualifying times in advancing to tomorrow’s finals in both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles. He won his preliminary heat in the 100-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 13.93. He also finished up in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best at 51.86. The sophomore will be joined in the 100-meter hurdles by Les Bradley II who ran season-best 14.03.
High jumper Elan Daviglus picked um Miami’s five points with a season-best leap of 2.04m. His fourth place finish is the best ACC result for the junior.
The 2008 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will continue Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the men’s discus. The first of 20 championship finals on the track will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the men’s 4 X 100-meter relay. A full recap of Friday’s events will be available Saturday morning at www.ACCSelect.com.
