March 28, 2008
<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Charlottesville, Va… The top-ranked University of Virginia men’s tennis team picked up its 20th win of the season with a 7-0 victory over No. 26 University of Miami on Friday afternoon at the SnyderTennisCenter.
“They were just too good today,” said Miami head coach Mario Rincon of Virginia’s play. “We need to regroup and simply play better to finish out the regular season strong.”
It was the most lopsided loss in over a year for the Hurricanes, who fall to 9-5 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, while the Cavaliers’ record remains untarnished at 20-0 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
