The three-time All-American ran a provisional time of 1:50.05 in the title run, giving his team 10 points. The men finished with a total of 38 points, good for an eight place finish, their best result since joining the ACC in 2005.
Coach Mike Ward said, “For Tim to get his fifth overall ACC title (three indoor) is another feather in his cap.”
An excellent performance from junior high jumper Elan Daviglus was witnessed on Saturday as he turned in an all-ACC mark. With a leap of 2.04m (6-08.25), Daviglus took second place in the event.
Three more Hurricanes scored on the day, two coming in the 60-meter hurdles, where Les Bradley finished third with a time of 7.93. His teammate and fellow sophomore Cory Nelms battled his way to a sixth place finish.
“For Les and Elan to get all-ACC was a big step for them and our efforts as a team this season,” added Ward.
Freshman DeMarcus Van Dyke a cornerback for the UM football team scored in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.91.
Names of all participants in this year’s NCAA Indoor National Championships will be released on March 10, with at least Tim Harris being expected to perform in the 800-meter dash March 15. The championships will once again be hosted by the University of Arkansas.
