Hurricanes Golf Hosts Qdoba Invitational

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team will host its first tournament of the spring season with the Qdoba Invitational from Sun., Feb. 17, through Tues., Feb. 19, at Don Shula’s Golf Resort in MiamiLakes.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Twelve teams are slated to compete as Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, San Jose State, South Florida, Southern Mississippi and Virginia join Miami in the three-day tournament.
Competition will begin on Sunday with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., followed by 8:30 a.m. shotgun starts on both Monday and Tuesday.
The Hurricanes are led by senior Jessica Steward, who put together a team-best 75.5 stroke average over four tournaments in the fall. Freshman Christina Hirano also got off to a strong start in her collegiate campaign in the fall, with a 75.73 stroke average.
