McGinn Earns All-ACC Academic Team Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior Casey McGinn has been named to the 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Track and Field Team announced Friday by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.

McGinn, a native of Orlando who majors in accounting, has been the Hurricanes’ top performer in the pole vault in each of his three seasons at UM. During this year’s outdoor season, he hit marks of over 16 feet on five separate occasions including a personal-best mark of 16-02.75 feet (4.95m) at the ACC Outdoor Championships in College Park, Md.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
