Miami Moves up in Weekly Outdoor Track and Field Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – As preparations continue for this weekend’s ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships the University of Miami women’s track and field team is ranked No. 12 and No. 13 in the latest national polls released by Trackwire.com and the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), respectively.

Ranked No. 14 in both polls last week, Miami climbed two spots in the Trackwire.com poll and up one in the USTFCCCA poll following an impressive effort at last Saturday’s Miami Elite Invitational which saw UM record a combined five first place and 10 top-three finishes.

Several Hurricanes also received recognition in Trackwire.com’s weekly “Dandy Dozen” which ranks individuals in each respective event.

Listed in this week’s “Dandy Dozen” was senior Ginou Etienne who is ranked No. 5 in 400-meters, sophomore Viktoria Andonova who is ranked No. 11 in the high jump, seniors Brenda Faluade and Amy Seward who are ranked No. 3 and No. 7, respectively, in the long jump and junior Khadija Talley who is ranked No. 12 in the shot put. Faluade is also ranked No. 4 in the triple jump and UM’s 4×100-meter relay team is No. 5.
