McGinn Wins Pole Vault at UNC Fast Times

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of Miami junior Casey McGinn took first place in the pole vault competition Friday on the first day of action at the UNC Fast Times at the Eddie Smith Field House.
McGinn placed first with a mark of 15 feet, seven inches to top Duke’s Pat Tenbrink’s second-place mark of 14 feet, one and ¼ inches.
With one event remaining, UM senior Roland DaSilva was atop the leaderboard in the heptathlon with a total of 2,724 points. Complete results will be released Saturday.
The second and final day of competition at the UNC Fast Times will conclude tomorrow. Additionaly, several members of the UM men’s track and field team will compete Saturday at the Florida Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
