Dr. Jeremy Jordan Named TIAA-CREF Academic Coach for Georgia Tech Game

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – Congratulations to Dr. Jeremy Jordan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sports Sciences for being named the TIAA-CREF Academic Coach for the Men’s Basketball game versus Georgia Tech on December 3, 2006.
As a reminder to all members of the UM Academy Community, the Office of Athletic Academic Services is once again sponsoring the TIAA-CREF Academic Coach Program. The Academic Coach Program is designed to give faculty and staff members an inside look at what our athletes go through during a typical practice and game.
The Academic Coach will be exposed to:
pre-game strategy the game time coaching and teaching most importantly, the emotions the athletes deal with throughout the game.
The Academic Coach will be invited to:
practice during the week pre-game shoot around sit on or near the bench during the game. visit the Hurricane 100 room pre-game and during half-time of men’s games other interactive activities for the women’s games, which may include attending the chalk talk session with Coach Meier, pre-game and post-game locker room access, and a chance to possibly address the team
TIAA-CREF will sponsor this program for home events.
UM faculty members interested being a TIAA-CREF Academic Coach for the men’s or women’s basketball teams this season can email Leigh Husband. Requests will be filled on a first-come, first serve basis.
