Michelle Bruin Named to the 2006 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami volleyball player Michelle Bruin was garnered the 2006 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III third team for the second consecutive year. The announcement was made by CoSIDA, (College Sports Information Directors of America) on Wednesday.

Bruin, a junior outside hitter from Chapel Hill, N.C. has a grade point average of 3.88 and is majoring in Sports Administration, with a minor in Business Administration.

With a 4.0 GPA, Bruin earned her spot in the 2005 Academic All-District III Second Team.

She has earned a spot on the school’s Provost Honor roll (3.75 GPA and above) in every semester in which she has been enrolled. Bruin has also earned a 4.0 GPA in two of her four semesters at the University of Miami.

During her freshman and sophomore years, Bruin was named to the 2004-05 and 2005-06 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Bruin is one of the top student-athletes based on her cumulative GPA for the University of Miami Athletic Department.
