Women's Golf Travels To Edwin Watts Intercollegiate

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team returns to action October 30-31 at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate at Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The 20 team field boasts 15 teams ranked among the top-100 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Women’s Collegiate Golf ratings including No. 38 Campbell, No. 41 Indiana, No. 44 Louisville, No. 53 College of Charleston, No. 57 Maryland, No. 62 Colorado, No. 70 Notre Dame, No. 74 Coastal Carolina, No. 76 East Tennessee State, No. 77 Wisconsin, No. 80 Kansas State, No. 81 Miami, No. 84 Iowa State, No. 85 Arkansas-Little Rock and No. 89 Western Carolina.
Miami has been led this season by junior Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.). Steward has been the Hurricanes’ top finisher at all three fall tournaments this season including a victory at the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invite, October 16-17, in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Steward’s winning total of 209 set a UM 54-hole scoring record and earned her National Player of the Week honors by Golfweek. Steward also recorded a top-10 finish at the Wildcat Fall Classic in Lexington, Ky. and has a team-best 73.88 stroke average this fall.
Admission to the tournament is free and will feature two 18-hole rounds on Monday, October 30 with the final round taking place on Tuesday, October 31.
