Jessica Steward Named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior golfer Jessica Steward who set a UM 54-hole record by shooting a 209 total enroute to winning the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invite in Ft. Myers, FL October 17 has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period October 16 to October 23. The previous school record was 212 set by Penny Hammel in 1982 and later equaled by Tracy Kerdyk in 1987, Julie Brand in 1992 and Tina Miller in 2005.

Steward had rounds of 69, 68 and 72 enroute to the seven-under-par performance to lead the tournament wire-to-wire. The win was the first for Steward in her collegiate career and the first by a Hurricane since Miller won the Ryder Collegiate Championship in 2005.
