Women's Volleyball Prepare to Take on Florida State and Duke

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami volleyball team will face in-state rival Florida State Tuesday evening at the Seminoles’ Tully Gym. The match will broadcast live on Sun Sports Television Network at 7:00 p.m.
Miami holds a 6-12 overall record and 3-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Hurricanes head to Tallahassee after coming off of two ACC matches against the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech. Miami went down to the Cavaliers in three games Friday evening before falling to the Hokies 1-3 the next night.
The Hurricanes are led by senior setter Jill Robinson with 715 assists and has surpassed the 4,000 career assists mark with 4,430 total career assists. She is the only player in UM history to accomplish this feat.
Also leading Miami is senior outside hitter Frannie Savage with 252 kills (3.60 pg). Junior Ciara Michel is not far behind with 197 total kills.
Defensively, Michel is ranked seventh in the league with 1.24 blocks per game, while she is in first place on the UM roster with 87 blocks. Senior Ann Gallo has tallied a team-best 190 digs for a 2.71 digs per game average.
As a team, the Hurricanes are averaging 14.0 kills, 1.5 service aces, 14.4 digs and 2.6 blocks per game.
On Friday evening the Hurricanes will return home to take on Duke at 7:00 p.m. at the Knight Sports Complex.
