Phlatts Leads Hurricanes

Miami, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior DeeDee Phlatts (Silver Spring, Md.) finished sixth to lead the women’s cross country team at the UM, FIU, FAU Tri-meet Thursday at Tropical Park in Miami, Fla.
Phlatts completed the 5K course in a time of 19:49 marking the fourth straight time this season she has been the Hurricanes top finisher at an event.
Other Hurricanes scoring included sophomore Ena Leufroy (Atlanta, Ga.) was ninth (20:16), senior Allison McElhaney (Jacksonville, Fla.) who finished 11th (20:36), senior Jessica Fern (Dover, Del.) who placed 12th (21:55) and senior Lindsay Rohrs (St. Charles, Ill.) who finished 13th (21:59).
Miami recorded 48 points to finish second at the meet. Florida International placed first with a score of 15 while FAU was third (82 points).
The Hurricanes return to action October 28 at the ACC Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Va.
