Scheiner Leads Miami At Gator Invitational

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Jonathan Scheiner (Katy, Texas) finished 22nd to lead the University of Miami men’s cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the Mountain Dew Gator Cross Country Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Scheiner completed the 8K course in a time of 25:38.85 to lead six Hurricanes in the top-50.

Sophomore Andrew Chuplis (Winter Park, Fla.) placed 27th in time of 25:59.74, senior Seth Kampf finished 37th in a time of 26:10.95, sophomore Jules Rosem (Sycamore, Ohio) was 43rd in a time of 26:18.40, senior Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mass.) finished 44th with a time of 26:19.21 and sophomore Eric Miller (Katy, Texas) finished 48th in a time of 26:21.96.

Overall the Hurricanes placed fifth out of 17 teams with 141 points. Host Florida won the team title with 15 points.
