Phlatts Leads Hurricanes At Sharks Invitational

SUNRISE, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior DeeDee Phlatts (Silver Springs, Md.) finished seventh in a time of 20:54.00 to lead the women’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the Nova Southeastern Sharks Invitational.

On the strength of Phlatts’ performance the Hurricanes recorded 102 points finishing third behind team champion Florida Atlantic (35 points) and Florida International (36 points).

Other Hurricanes running well included senior Allison McElhaney who finished 16th (21:41.00), freshman Elizabeth Garro who placed 24th (22:24.00) and senior Lindsay Rohrs who was 27th (22:43.81).

Miami returns to action on September 16 at the Florida Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
