Marincic Named to 2006 All-ACC Academic Women's Basketball Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –
The <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami’s Tatjana Marincic has been named to the 2006 All-ACC Academic Women’s Basketball Team as announced Wednesday by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
To be eligible for consideration for the 15-member team, student athletes must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative averaged during her academic career.
After helping the Hurricanes to an overall record of 17-13 and a second round appearance at the 2006 Women’s National Invitation Tournament, Marincic capped off her career at UM by earning a bachelor’s degree in International Finance and Marketing in May.
The honor marks the second for Marincic who was named to the 2005 All-ACC Academic Team Prior to UM’s move to the ACC in 2004, she was a two-time (2003, 2004) honoree as a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
