Greggs Named ACC Performer of the Week

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Charlette Greggs (Miami Northwestern) has been named the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for the second time this season.

Greggs won the 400-meters and was the top collegiate finisher in 200-meters at the Miami Elite Invitational this past weekend. Her winning time of 51.97 in the 400-meters is the best in the ACC this season and ranks third in the nation.

The 11-time All-American posted a time of 23.22 second in the 200-meters in finishing second to Lauryn Williams, the reigning World Champion at 100-meters. Both times are NCAA Regional qualifiers.

The honor is the second of the season for Greggs who was also named ACC Performer of the Week on April 3. The Hurricanes have now won the award four times this season. Senior India Ransom won the award on March 20 and senior Dominique Darden took home the honor on April 10.

Miami travels to the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, April 20-22, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
