Leggett Named ACC Performer Of The Week

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Lance Leggett (Bartow, Fla.) has been named ACC Co-Performer of the Week after a strong performance at the Hurricane Invitational this past weekend. Leggett shares the honor with North Carolina’s Nick Owens.

Leggett captured the men’s 110m high hurdles at the Hurricane Invitational in a time of 13.89 breaking the meet record while qualifying for the NCAA East Regional. It is the fastest time record in the ACC this season.

Owens won the men’s hammer throw at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Team Challenge in Greensboro, N.C. this past weekend. The junior from Shelton, Washington established a regional qualifying mark of 212′ 7″ (64.80m) to win the event in his first outdoor competition of the season.
