Construction Update #4
And the beat goes on at Mark Light Field… The renovations and construction at The Light continued through the Thanksgiving Holiday and will continue throughout the holiday season. Through intense labor by the crew working on the stadium, project benchmarks are moving closer and closer to their scheduled completion after the hurricane season put production off by as much as two weeks.
Thanks to the hard work done by everyone on the project, a clearer view of the future stadium can now be seen:
- The new light poles were somehow navigated into the stadium grounds despite the sharp turn and tight space at the intersection of Ponce De Leon Boulevard and San Amaro Drive. The poles lay around the perimeter of the field, waiting to be erected
- Drilling has begun to insert the new light poles, which are concrete and about four feet in diameter at the base
- Both home and visitor dugouts are being formed into solid structures
- The concrete has been poured to form the foundation of new premium seating behind the backstop
- The reinforcement of the grandstand has progressed quickly, ensuring a safer concourse area for future events
- The rubble has been cleared from the front of the stadium to allow the project to progress
