Cross Country Ranked 13th in Preseason Regional Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –

The University of Miami men’s cross country team is ranked 13th in the South Region in the United States Cross Country Coaches Associations 2005 Preseason poll released today.

The Hurricanes join Georgia Tech (11) and <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>FloridaState (1) as the three lone ACC representatives in the South Region.

 

Ninth-year head coach Mike Ward and the Hurricanes opened the 2005 season Sept. 3, taking the title at the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Invitational in West Palm Beach, Fla. and followed up last Sunday with an second-place overall finish at the Gator Cross Country Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

 

Miami will return to action Sept. 30, traveling to South Bend, Ind. to participate in the Notre Dame Invitational.
