Men's Track Earns All-Academic Honors

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s track and field team was one of 21 teams to earn All-Academic honors by the National Collegiate Track Coaches Association.

The Hurricanes posted a 3.051 team GPA in 2005 placing them 13th in the nation and tops among ACC track and field programs.

This marks the third consecutive season in which the Miami men’s track and field team has earned All-Academic distinction. In 2004 the Hurricanes ranked 16th in the nation with a 3.001 team GPA, and in 2003 Miami recorded a 3.166 GPA to rank eighth in the country.

The honor comes on the heels of the men’s cross country team which earned All-Academic honors earlier in the year. The UM men’s cross country team earned All-Academic distinction by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association boasting a team GPA of 3.50, ranking second in the nation.
