Bounds Wins Bronze at Speedo National Diving Championships

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – University of Miami junior diver Heather Bounds claimed the bronze medal on the platform event at the 2005 Speedo National Diving Championships held at the HuntersvilleFitness & AquaticsCenter over the weekend. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Bounds, representing the Miami Diving Club, took the bronze with 437.97 points. 2000 Olympic gold medalist Laura Wilkinson claimed the gold with 541.80 points, while Brittany Viola took the silver with 507.42 points.
The Houston, Tex. native, advanced to the final when she finished fifth after turning in a score of 429.450 on August 10th.
