Clarke Anchors Jamaica To Bronze Medal

Helsinki, Finland (hurricanesports.com) – Former University of Miami runner Davian Clarke anchored Jamaica to the bronze medal in the 4×400-meter relay to close out the 2005 IAAF World Track and Field Championship in Helsinki, Finland.
Jamaica posted a season best time of 2:58.07. The United States won the gold medal recording a World leading time of 2:56.91. The Bahamas recorded a national record time of 2:57.32 to place second.
Clarke, ranked sixth in the world in the 400-meters, won two NCAA 400-meter titles at Miami from 1995-98. Clarke, who is no stranger to international competition, has competed in three Olympic Games, and in 1996 anchored Jamaica to the bronze medal in the 4×400-meter relay at the Olympic Games in Atlanta.
