Bounds and Ferenczi Named CSCAA Academic All-Americans

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – University of Miami junior diver Heather Bounds and former swimmer Katalin Ferenczi were named Academic All-Americans by the Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America.

Ferenczi, who graduated in May, led the way for the Hurricanes with a stellar 3.92 GPA while Bounds posted a 3.79 GPA after her sophomore year.

Ferenczi, a native of Pa’ Pa, Hungary, closed her career at Miami as the school record holder in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:15.34. Bounds, who hails from Austin, Tex., qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10-meter platform.
