Harris Advances At NCAA East Regional

Randall’s Island, N.Y. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami freshman Tim Harris (Miami Booker T. Washington) placed second in his preliminary heat of the 800-meters with a time of 1:49.81 to advance to Saturday’s final at the NCAA East Regional Track and Field Championships at Icahn Stadium located on Randall’s Island, N.Y.

Harris, the 2004 USA Junior National Champion, was edged at the finish line by South Carolina’s William Amase who won the heat in a time of 1:49.80. Harris’ time was the fifth fastest of the qualifying round.

The 800-meter final is scheduled for Saturday at 5:52 p.m.
