Miller, Shinn Named All-ACC

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) and sophomore Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) were both named All-ACC as selected by a vote of the league’s eight head coaches.

Miller has competed in all nine tournaments this season posting three victories and four other top-10 finishes. Miller has seven career wins on the collegiate level and ranks 17th in the nation in the Golfstat Cup rankings. She leads the team with a 74.1 stroke average this season.

On Friday, April 28th she was named the recipient of 2005 Babe Didrickson Zaharias Award, presented annually by the Sports Society to the most outstanding female professional or amateur athlete.

Shinn has recorded one victory and three other top-10 finishes this season and ranks second on the team with a 75.8 stroke average. She has been among the Hurricanes’ top-2 finishers in all but one event this season.

Miami joins Duke as the only teams to have more than one player on the All-ACC team.
