Hurricanes Third At ACC Women's Golf Championship

Charlotte, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team shot an opening round 319 and is third place after the first day competition at the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, N.C.
Miami, which entered the tournament ranked 41st in the nation by Golfweek, was led by freshman Hagen Weintraub (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) who is in seventh-place after a first round 77. Senior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame), who has won her last two tournaments, shot a 78 on Friday and is tied for eighth.
Duke, the nation’s top-ranked team, leads the tournament after an opening round 303, while Wake Forest, ranked 15th in the nation, is second (312).
Second round action begins Saturday at 8 a.m.
