Harris Earns All-ACC Honors in the 800 Meters

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Freshman Tim Harris garnered All-ACC honors in the 800 meters with a second-place finish in Saturday’s finals at the 2005 ACC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships a the Eddie Smith Field House.

Harris, who advanced in Friday’s prelims with a time of 1:53.85, bettered his mark by more than a second, finishing behind Virginia’s McGavock Dunbar with a time of 1:52.57 in the finals.

As a team, the Hurricanes finished the third and final day of competition in 11th place overall.

In the 3000 meters, UM’s Zachery Castiglione finished 26th with a time of 8:45.17 and Thomas Berry finished with a 33rd-best time of 8:50.58.
