Williams Named ACC Performer of the Week

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Amber Williams (Succasunna, N.J.) has been named the ACC Track and Field Performer of the Week.
Williams won the women’s pentathlon at the Penn State National Open this past weekend posting an NCAA Automatic qualifying score of 4,088 points. Her point total established a new school-record, surpassing the old record by 245 points, and is the highest score in the nation this season.
Williams is the second Hurricane to win the award in as many weeks. Miami senior Kim Barrett (Miami Gulliver Prep) was named the ACC Performer of the Week on January 24th.
The 12th-ranked Hurricanes return to action on February 6 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
