Castiglione, DaSilva Lead Hurricanes

Boston, Mass. (hurricanesports.com) – Sophomore Zach Castiglione (Brighton, Mich.) won the 3000-meters and sophomore Roland DaSilva (Margate, Fla.) advanced to Saturday’s final of the 55-meter hurdles to lead the University of Miami men’s track and field team during the first day of competition at the Boston University Invitational in Boston, Mass.
Castiglione won the 3000-meters in a time of 8:39.23 while DaSilva won his preliminary heat of 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.82 seconds to advance to Saturday’s final.
In the 5000-meters, junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) finished 26th in a time of 14:59.47.
