Tipiana Named to All-ACC First Team

Charlottesville, Va. – The University of Miami volleyball team’s Valeria Tipiana was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference Wednesday evening when she was named to the All-ACC First Team, as voted on by head coaches from around the conference. Tipiana becomes the first-ever Miami player to earn the honor.
The senior rightside hitter, who was also an All-ACC Preseason selection, helped the Hurricanes garner a second seed in this week’s ACC Volleyball Championships. Tipiana has led the conference in service aces (0.53pg) and has been on the ACC’s Top 10 list in both hitting percentage and kills since the season began. She is also currently the team leader in kills (399/4.53) and hitting percentage (.320).
The Lima, Peru native became the first Miami player to reach the 1,000 career kills mark on September 1st and now holds the Miami career kills record with 1,388 kills.
