Cross Country Travels To NCAA South Regional

Tuscaloosa, Alabama (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s and women’s cross country teams will participate in the NCAA South Region Championships this Saturday, November 13 at the Harry Pritchett Golf Course in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The women’s 6K race will start at 10 a.m. with the men’s 10K race following at 11 a.m.
The UM men, who have been ranked as high as 12th in the South Region by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association, have finished in the top-4 in five of six meets this season including two victories.
The Hurricanes have been led this season by junior Alex Brutvan (Boca Raton, Fla.) who has been Miami’s top finisher at every event. Brutvan has won two races this season and has four career collegiate wins to his credit. He has been UM’s top finisher in 13 consecutive races dating back to last season.
The Miami women are led by junior Melanie Schultz (Davison, Mich.). Schultz has been the Hurricanes top finisher in all five meets this season, and in 10 of the last 11 races dating back to last season. She has recorded two individual victories and has finished in the top-3 of four of five races this season.
