Miguel Velazquez Earns ACC Performer of the Week Honors

Greensboro, N.C. – Senior diver Miguel Velazquez was named ACC Performer of the Week, it was announced today. This is Miami’s first swimming and diving award as new members of the ACC.

Velazquez turned in strong exhibition performances on both the one-meter and three-meter diving board in Charlottesville, Va., Friday night. The Mexico City, Mexico native set a new University of Virginia pool record in the three-meter event (six-dive format) with a total score of 399.45, while recording a 337.80 performance on the one-meter board. His scores in both events are tops among league performers this season.
