UM's Schultz Takes Third At Disney Classic

Orlando, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Melanie Schultz (Davison, Mich.) placed third with a time of 17:43.57 to lead the women’s cross country team to a 12th-place finish out of 32 teams at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

Schultz has been the Hurricanes top finisher at all three meets this season, and in eight of the last nine races dating back to last season. Also running well Saturday was freshman Delia Phlatts (Silver Springs, Md.) who finished 33rd in a season-best 5K time of 19:05.66.

Miami returns to action on Friday, October 15 in a dual meet against FIU beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Tropical Park in Miami.
