Hurricanes Travel to Maryland for ACC Match

Coral Gables, Fla. – University of Miami women’s volleyball head coach Nicole Lantagne Welch will return to her alma mater, Maryland, for her first match against the ACC rival Saturday night in College Park, Maryland at 8:00 pm in the Comcast Center Pavilion.
The Hurricanes come off a four-game win to ACC foe Virginia, who they defeated Friday evening at the Cavaliers’ Memorial Gym.
Sophomore setter Jill Robinson set a career assists mark while posting her fifth double-double of the season. Four Hurricanes posted double-digit kill efforts in the win.
Maryland fell to Florida State, 3-1, Friday night to bring fall to a 7-8 overall, 2-3 ACC record.
Leading the way for Maryland is Sarah Treadwell who has a team-high 181 kills for a 3.62 kill per game average as well as a team-leading 182 digs. Aimee Huddleston has tallied 596 assists (11.92) for the Terps this season while Stephanie Smith has posted 68 total blocks.
As a team the Terrapins are second in the ACC in blocks with 149.0 total blocks (33BS, 232BA) which also places them 21st in the nation. Maryland’s .201 team hitting percentage is the second lowest in the ACC.
