Women's Golf Returns To Action This Weekend

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team returns to action this weekend, October 8-10, at the Pat Bradley Championship at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, Fla.
The 16-team event will be played on the storied Blue Monster which is a 6,072 yards, par-72 course. Doral and the Blue Monster plays host to the PGA’s Ford Championship in March.
Competition is scheduled to begin Friday at 7:30 a.m., Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:45 a.m. Admission is free.
Teams participating in the event include Ball State, Bethune-Cookman, UCF, Daytona Beach Community College, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Florida International (host), Georgetown, Lynn, Memphis, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Princeton, Stetson and St. John’s.
Miami enters the tournament fresh off its second-place finish at the UK Wildcat Fall Invitational last weekend. The Hurricanes were led by senior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) who finished in a tie for seventh with a score of 228 (78-73-77). UM sophomore Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) also played well finishing 10th with a score of 229 (76-75-78).
