Tulane Tournament Cancelled Due to Hurricane Ivan; Miami to Play in SMU Tournament

Coral Gables, Fla. – Tulane University has announced the cancellation of the NOKIA Sugar Bowl Volleyball Classic that was scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17-18 due to Hurricane Ivan’s impending landfall in the Gulf Coast late Wednesday evening or Thursday. The Hurricanes will instead play a tournament at SMU in Dallas, Tex. on the same date.

The tournament which will be held at SMU’s Moody Coliseum will now include LSU who also had their home tournament cancelled because of Hurricane Ivan.

Miami will now face LSU at 11:00 am and tournament host SMU at 7:30 pm on Friday. They will close out the tournament with a 5:00 pm match against Wisconsin-Milwaukee
