Jenkins Takes Second In 100-meters

Piscataway, N.J. (hurricanesports.com) – Sophomore Darnell Jenkins (Miami Central) finished second in a time of 10.63 seconds to lead four Hurricanes in the top seven of the 100-meter final at the BIG EAST Track and Field Championships in Piscataway, N.J.

Junior Tanard Davis (Miami Southridge), the BIG EAST Indoor 60-meter champion, placed third in a time of 10.64 seconds, while sophomore Akieem Jolla (New Orleans, La.) was sixth (10.91) and sophomore Travarous Bain (Miami Northwestern) finished seventh (10.94).

The men’s 4×100-meter relay of freshman Devin Hester (Riviera Beach, Fla.), Jenkins, junior Kelly Jennings (Live Oak, Fla.) and Jolla finished third with a time of 41.27 seconds.

Also scoring for Miami was senior Kenny Frank (Pomona, N.Y.) who placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.73 seconds.

As a team the Hurricanes placed ninth with 37 points.
