CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s outdoor track and field team moved up one spot to number seven in the latest Trackwire 25 rankings released Tuesday.
The Hurricanes are led by junior All-American Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) who on Saturday ran the fastest times in the world this season in the 100-meters and 200-meters. Williams, a seven-time All-American, won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.01 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.46 seconds.
Williams was not the only Hurricane to give a strong performance Saturday. Miami had 12 individuals and two relays record qualifying marks for the NCAA Regional Championship, May 28-29, in Gainesville, Fla.
