Women's Golf Leads Waterlefe Invitational

Bradenton, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami Women’s Golf Team recorded a score of 291 and lead by 15 strokes after the first round of competition at the Waterlefe/USF Invitational in Bradenton, Fla.
East Carolina, Mississippi and Louisville are in a three-way tie for second with scores of 306.
Miami, which recorded its first team title since 1998 at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational last weekend, boasts four women in the top seven of the individual standings including senior Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) who is in second after an opening round 71.
Junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) and senior Jazmin Cataldo (Asuncion, Paraguay) are tied for third after recording first round scores of 73. Freshman Tiffany Prats (Williston, Fla.) is tied for seventh (74).
Mississippi’s Nikki Hadd recorded an opening round 70 to take the individual lead.
The conclusion of the second round, which was halted due to darkness, as well as the third and final round will take place Tuesday.
