Women's Golfers Win Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational

Winter Springs, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team fired a final round 302 to win the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, Fla.
Miami, which recorded a three-round total of 910 (310-298-302), finished five strokes ahead of host Rollins College (305-310-300-915). The win for Miami is its first victory since finishing first at the Pat Bradley Invitational in the fall of 1998.
The Hurricanes had four players finish in the top-12 individually including junior Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) and freshman Tiffany Prats (Williston, Fla.) who finished in a tie for second with final scores of 224.
Miller (78-71-75-224) and Prats (73-78-73-224) finished behind North Carolina Greensboro’s Polly Willett (76-74-74-224) who defeated the Hurricane duo in a playoff.
Senior Jazmin Cataldo (Asuncion, Paraguay) finished 11th (77-74-80-231) while senior Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) tied for 12th (84-75-74-233).
Miami returns to action March 15-16 at the Waterlefe Invitational in Bradenton, Fla.
