No. 21 Miami Travels To Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-The No. 21 Miami women’s basketball team looks to avenge an earlier loss to Notre Dame traveling to face the Fighting Irish Wednesday at 8 p.m. in South Bend, Ind.
The Hurricanes (20-4, 9-4 BIG EAST) are tied with Villanova and West Virginia for third place in the BIG EAST standings. Miami has won four in a row, including a win over Seton Hall 81-43 Saturday afternoon in Coral Gables.
The Fighting Irish (17-8, 10-3 BIG EAST) are currently in lone possession of second place in the conference standings. Notre Dame has won three in a row, beating Pittsburgh 72-68 Saturday afternoon in Peterson Events Center.
Notre Dame handed Miami its first home loss of the season on Jan. 28, 2004 (59-50). The Hurricanes were a perfect 8-0 at home entering that game with the Irish. The Irish are a perfect 11-0 at home this season entering the matchup with UM.
The Hurricanes and Fighting Irish will meet for the 16th time tonight. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 12-3 and has won eight of the last 10 meetings. UM is 2-5 when facing the Fighting Irish in the Joyce Center.
Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) leads the Hurricanes with 16.9 points per game. Four of Miami’s starting five average double figures.
Notre Dame has two players averaging double figures, with Jacqueline Batteast leading the team with 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
