UM Men Head To BIG EAST Championships

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s track and field team travels to Syracuse, N.Y. for the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships, February 21-22, in Syracuse, N.Y.
Miami will be led by a strong group of sprinters including defending BIG EAST 60-meter champion Terrell Walden. Walden ranks No. 1 in the BIG EAST in the 60-meters (6.73) this season and has also qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the 200-meters.
Overall the Hurricanes qualified six sprinters in the 60-meters and have four of the top-7 seeds. In addition to Walden, UM freshman Devin Harris ranks second (6.75) while junior Tanard Davis is seeded third (6.83). Sophomore Sinorice Moss has the seventh fastest time in the BIG EAST this season (6.89).
Hester also ranks No. 1 in the conference in the long jump with a mark of 7.32 meters (24-00.00). Freshman Jon Beason has the seventh best jump in the BIG EAST this season (6.82 meters) while senior Russell Landy also qualified.
Senior Jon Mark qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the pole vault for the fourth consecutive season.
